SOL

What is SOL

Students of Life. Not a slogan — a standard.

Most media tells you what to think; SOL focuses on how to think. We take politics, culture, conflict, technology, economics and run them through reason, logic, and evidence. No ideology, no agenda, no assertion dressed up as analysis.

Why we exist

Information is everywhere, understanding is rare; that gap is where bad decisions happen. SOL exists to close it for people who don't have time for academic journals but know when they're being fed a line.

What we do

  • Find important claims and check them against evidence
  • Explain what the data actually says (and doesn't say)
  • Follow the logic even when it's uncomfortable
  • Show our reasoning so you can disagree if we're wrong

What we cover

Eleven topic areas, each with its own lens: Political, Conflict, Athletics, Culture, Digital, Agriculture, Literacy, Frontier, Industry, Development, and SOL (the learning-in-public hub). Browse by topic, search, or suggest a topic.

Our theme

No Super PACs, no ideological or financial bias — we don't sell a side; we follow evidence and logic. We treat morality as something that evolves. Freedom of expression doesn't mean freedom to oppress or to assert without evidence. Opinions are worth having only if they're constantly examined. Understanding how things work doesn't take away from wonder.

Read it. Think about it. Decide for yourself.
